Society for Humanistic Judaism (SHJ)
The City Congregation is a member of the Society for Humanistic Judaism that was organized in 1969 and comprises more than thirty secular Jewish communities in the United States and Canada.
The Society's mission is to mobilize people to celebrate Jewish identity and culture consistent with a humanistic philosophy of life. Along with a list of local affiliates, the Society offers a recommended reading list on its website.
The International Federation of Secular Humanistic Jews
The goal of IFSHJ is to reach out to secular Jews and offer them communities where they can affirm their Judaism, celebrate their Jewish identity, educate their children about their rich and vibrant heritage, and fully participate in Jewish life.
International Institute of Secular Humanistic Judaism (IISHJ)
The International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism is the intellectual and educational arm of the Secular Humanistic Jewish movement. It was established in 1985 to commission and publish educational materials for the movement and to train rabbis, leaders, teachers, educators and spokespersons for the movement. The Institute office is located at the Ben and Lorraine Pivnick Center for Humanistic Judaism in Farmington Hills, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.
The Institute presents a special biennial program called The Colloquium. This gathering provides new and fresh insight into crucial issues of Jewish identity and Jewish survival in the contemporary world. It includes scholars and academicians as well as popular writers and creative artists.

The Center for Cultural Judaism
The Center for Cultural Judaism supports and implements educational and outreach programs to engage the broad and diverse population of cultural Jews. The Center administers the Posen Project grants for the study of secular Jewish history and cultures at American universities and colleges. The Center also maintains a significant bibliography on its website along with useful and informative articles in its section under "Jewish Life."
Congress of Secular Jewish Organizations (CSJO)
The Congress of Secular Jewish Organizations (CSJO) is composed of independent organizations that promote a secular expression of its members' Jewish heritage, with particular emphasis on the culture and ethics of the Jewish people.
Association of Humanistic Rabbis
The Association of Humanistic Rabbis was founded in 1967 by rabbis committed to the values and teachings of Humanistic Judaism, a human-centered approach to Jewish life and culture. The purpose of the AHR is to support efforts that foster these values and to develop the on-going learning, fellowship and welfare of its members.
